Education & Alternative Provision at Days Farm.
A calm, rural setting where learning happens through animals, outdoor activity and meaningful connection. We're building a programme designed for young people who thrive when education looks a little different.
Alternative Provision is on its way.
We're developing a dedicated animal-based, outdoor, wellbeing-focused learning programme for young people who benefit from structured support outside the traditional classroom.
Cognitive Animal Learning Methods.
CALMs is built around our ethos of Calm and Confident. Every session is shaped around the individual learner, their pace, and the animals they connect with. By understanding animal welfare and needs, learners develop empathy, self-awareness and communication through real, hands-on experience.
Functional and key skills are embedded naturally into the work: reading, writing, maths, problem-solving and practical tasks all grow out of caring for the animals and the farm environment.
One-to-one support
Sessions are delivered one-to-one with a dedicated member of staff, giving the learner uninterrupted attention and a consistent, predictable relationship. This quiet, focused time helps learners feel safe, capable, and genuinely heard.
What learners gain
- Confidence and self-awareness through animal care
- Empathy, consideration and communication skills
- Practical skills in a calm, outdoor setting
- A steady routine with a trusted adult
- A sense of achievement and real responsibility

Who it's for
Learners who benefit from a quieter, more flexible environment — including those with additional needs, anxiety, or experience of disrupted schooling. We're working with schools, families and local authorities as the programme takes shape.
A calm place to learn and grow.
